Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali city to Bukavu – Congo

The tour begins from Kigali city, Rwanda with an early pick up from your lodge by our company guide.

Drive past Butare city and visit the Mirambi genocide memorial site, the national museum in Butare, the Kings Palace in Nyanza, and other cultural activities at this place.

Have en route lunch and transfer to Bukavu for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla trekking encounter

The gorilla encounter begins with an early breakfast at the lodge and you’ll be driven to the park headquarters from Bukavu town, where you will go through a short briefing concerning how to behave and the general code of conduct when with the gorillas.

Trekking the lowland gorillas takes place in lowland forests making it quite easier compared to mountain gorilla trekking. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed only 1 hour with these gentle giants.

In the afternoon, visit neighboring communities of Kibasi village, visit the water falls, and proceed to Bukavu town later for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure
