Kisiizi falls lies on Kyabamba River, few meters from Kisiizi hospital and 22km from Rukungiri district headquarters along the Kabale – Rukungiri border. The falls are about 27 meters high dropping water into a gorge continuing the flow of the river up to Lake Edward. A safari to Kisiizi falls in Uganda turns up to be a best experience ever because one gets involved in different activities of choice.

From the many activities done at Kisiizi falls, it is renowned to be a former execution arena where the Bakiga girls who conceived before marriage met their death. In the Bakiga culture, proper child upbringing is taken with a great deal of seriousness as it’s the basis for continuity. Getting pregnant before marriage was considered proof that a family failed to nurture their little ones.
To be exact, the conceived girls could be pushed off the cliff of a remnant valley along which flows an explosive waterfall. It’s over a century now since a victim was executed. The falls also hold a four dimensions statue designed to illustrate how the execution used to happen.
Kisiizi falls is structured in a way that one can carry out a self-guided tour, right from the main roads, there are sign posts to offer direction all the way to the site, so don’t lay back because getting involved in adventurous activities at Kisiizi falls is the best experience ever.
