Day 1: Arrival, and then be transferred to Moshi town
You will be picked from Arusha town at the Kilimanjaro international Airport, then transfer to Moshi town. This is commonly known as the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro.
Then dinner and overnight at Base Hotel
Day 2: Mt Kilimanjaro via Machame route.
Transfer from Moshi to Machame gate and you will begin to ascent to Mt Kilimanjaro via Machame route. Then transfer to the Machame gate to begin the climb. This trek winds thorough the beautiful lush rain forest since the weather is so demanding.
Then dinner and Overnight in mountain tents at Machame
Day 3: Climbing the Shira plateau.
Start the day with a full climb leaving the forest behind; the climb will take 3 to 4 hours. This path drops into a gorgeous river gorge before you climb more gently up to the moorland of the plateau. The shira plateau is one of the remains of an older volcano that was engulfed when it was formed. The views are absolutely breath taking on clear days. You will also enjoy the endless expanse of multi colored heath to the gargantuan rim at the end of the plateau; where the billows of the clouds melt down onto the plateau floor.

Day 4: A walk of 5 to 6 hours across the plateau. Overnight at Barranco tents.
You will have a walk of 5 to 6 hours across the plateau which makes little net elevation. However, there are ups and downs throughout the day. You will also enjoy the sightings of the typical Kilimanjaro mountain vegetation and many rewarding views of the spectacular Barraco valley.
Then dinner and overnight camping in mountain tents at Barranco.
Day 5:Trekking up to the Barranco wall and to Barafu camp.
This day includes about 6 to 8 hours of trekking up to the Barranco wall. You will then cross scree and ridges to karanga Valley for your lunch before you continue to Barafu camp.
Finally dinner and overnight at camping in mountain tents at Barafu.
Day 6: Ascend through the heavy scree towards Stella point on the crater rim
You will wake up early in the morning and after, you will ascend in a northwest direction. Then ascend through the heavy scree towards Stella point on the crater rim. This walk will take 8 hours to Stella point and it needs climbers, mentally and physically fit and it’s challenging on the route. You will have a rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise. From this point, you will also encounter snow all the way on your 2 hour ascent to Uhuru peak. You will then take a brief respite at Barafu camp before descending all the way down to Mweka Camp.
Finally dinner and overnight at Mweka Camp
Day 7: Descend through the lower heath section that will turn into the rain forest.
You will have breakfast and after descend through the lower heath section that will turn into the rain forest. You will also end your Kilimanjaro time here at Kibololoni Gate; where you will meet with the guide and transfer back to Base Hotel in Moshi for your dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure.
Have breakfast and after transfer to Arusha town; marking the end of your 8 Days Mount Kilimanjaro hiking Safari.
