Day 1: Arrival in Kigali.
On arrival, you will be met by our company safari guide who will take you around for a city tour and visit the genocide Memorial Museum, craft markets and many more. Kigali city tour also includes the old town of Nyamirambo and Muslim Quarter, the new handcraft village and many other iconic structures in town, enjoy the Batwa pottery and the dance center and the Presidential palace. Immediately after lunch, connect to Nyungwe Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Hiking and tracking of Colobus monkeys in Nyungwe forest.
Have breakfast and after enter Nyungwe forest to track the Colobus monkeys. You will have a walk in the forest and learning experience conducted by the tour guide who is well versed in botany, ornithology and the inter-species relationship in Nyugwe Forest. Then you will return to your lodge for lunch. Relax in late afternoon and head back to forest for nature walk till evening.

Day 3: Chimp trekking in Nyungwe forest national park.
You are also expected to wake up early enough, have breakfast and then penetrate into Nyungwe forest to track the endangered chimpanzees. This will take you between 1 to 8 hours viewing chimps play, feed and take care of their families. After this experience, return to the lodge for lunch and spend the entire afternoon resting and in the evening, transfer to Kibuye, on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Day 4: Transfer from Kibuye -Ruhengeri.
Have breakfast and after connect to Kinigi from Kibuye via Gisenyi and Ruhengeri. This is a 6 hours’ drive. The drive passes via some of the most beautiful sceneries in the region, providing spectacular views of the tea growing country of Gisovu and Kayove. You will be provided with brief stops for photography and refreshments. The 4 hours’ drive will en route to Gisenyi for lunch and a brief city tour. Thereafter, drive for 2 hours to Ruhengeri and finally Kinigi, which is the home for gorilla trekking tours in Rwanda.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park.
After the morning breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for guide allocation and briefing. This is also followed by a drive to the trail heads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. Hiking and tracking gorillas takes between 2-8 hours, depending on their movements. You will sight and stay with the mountain gorillas for 1 hour. Descend to your Hotel for lunch and refreshments. Later in the afternoon, visit the panoramic twin volcanic lakes of Burera and Ruhondo before retiring for overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure.
After your breakfast, visit Dian Fossey‘s grave or hike the Bisoke Volcano, which is also full of beautiful crater lakes. All the above activities are suitable for those who are reasonably fit. You will return to the base hotel for Lunch . Finally, later in the afternoon, you will be driven for 2 hours to Kigali international airport for your flight back home; and this will mark the end of your 6 days Rwanda Mixed Safari.
