This 3 Day Queen Elizabeth national park safari in Uganda is a 3-in 1 trip that combines the unforgettable equator crossing experience, splendid wild game trips and the magical launch cruise at Kazinga channel. This experience avails opportunities to explore the pleasant Savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park that harbors 4 of the big five land mammals including elephants, buffaloes, Lions and leopards. The fascinating Kazinga channel allows you have a chance to view the majority of park’s hippo population, water mammals and birds during the 45-minute boat trip

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP – En-Route Equator stop at Kayabwe
Following your breakfast at your place of residence in Kampala, you will embark on the trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the south west part of Uganda, a journey of 417km about 7 hours’ drive. You will traverse through the unequaled remote landscapes in the south west including the semi-arid range lands of Ankole with short extended savanna. The first stop will be made at Kayabwe, at the Uganda Equator crossing for amazing photo shots and a local water experiment that proves the earth split-up into two halves, the north and south spheres and later stop for a hearty lunch with a cultural touch in the fascinating western city of Mbarara.

Proceed through the undulating sceneries of Bunyaruguru crater and the magical Lake Nyabihoko. It is beautifully curved in the shape of the map of Africa; arrive at your lodge late in the afternoon for relaxation and overnight.

Day 2: Full day – Activities
After a splendid morning cup of coffee at your hotel, embark on the drive across the undulating rolling savannah rangelands of Queen Elizabeth in search of wild game. The stretch to the Kasenyi plains, the renown mating ground offers you a lifetime opportunity of encountering numerous families of wild game in a single glance including elephants, buffaloes, water bucks, and Kobs along with predators like lions, leopards, and jackals.

The game drive takes 3 – 4 hours and you retreat back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, you continue to Mweya jetty to catch up with a boat trip at exactly 4pm. The 2-hour boat cruise offers a chance to explore the 45km long Kazinga Channel which links the twin lakes, George and Edward, the channel is known to be the capital of Hippos and Nile crocodiles. Its banks are usually fully stocked with a variety of wild game like elephants and buffaloes which can be seen along quenching their thirst from the Kazinga waters on a hot day. Retreat from the activity and do the game drive along the channel track as you proceed to the lodge.

Day 3: Drive back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport.
After your morning breakfast, you will transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe along the Kasese-Fort portal road. You will pass by the equator line in Kasese just a few kilometers from the park where you will have opportunities to view the jagged hills of Kasese intertwined with the savannah rangelands marked with the Basongola herds of cattle that will make the experience a memorable one.
You will have an en-route lunch in the central town of Mubende as you head straight to Kampala to mark the end of the 3 days Queen Elizabeth national park tour.
