Day 1: Arrival
You will be welcomed by the company guide from Love Uganda safaris be transferred to your respective hotel in Kampala.
Depending on the time of your arrival, you will have a late afternoon city tour and enjoy beautiful cultural and ancient attractions that date back from times of colonialism, including the Kasubi tombs, Namugongo Martyrs shrine, Uganda national museum and the African craft village etc. After that, you will be transferred back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja
After breakfast, you will leave the capital and head to Jinja, where the mighty Nile River begins its 5000 km distance to Mediterranean sea. You will have a stopover at Mabira forest and take a nature walk through this beautiful lush forest, with different primates, birds, and butterflies. There are also many options on this day, visiting the Nile source, Bujagali falls, floating on the rapids and also relaxing on the shores of the Nile.

Day 3: Transfer to Mount Elgon
Depart Jinja in the morning and drive to Elgon mountain. We will then pass through Mbale a nice town at the foot of the mountain Elgon. The area is also full of rich heritage and fascinating culture. Later you will reach Sipi village, which is nestled between waterfalls and the mountains. Immediately after lunch at the lodge, you will enjoy a hike to the Sipi falls. You will pass via typical African Bandas, banana plantations and the maize fields

Day 4: Piswa camp
After breakfast, we will transfer to Kapkwata at 2190 meters. It is from here, that you will start the hike following the Kapkwata trail. This is also a scenic route running through the bamboo, moorland and the heath. Then you will arrive at the Piswa camp at 2850 meters.

Day 5: Hunter’s cave camp
You will hike up to the rim of the caldera through the beautiful columns of the rarest and the endemic plant species including the giant Lobelia Elgonensis. Then also visit the slopes of Mount Elgon and find the wild lasting flowers. You will also have a visit to the hot springs and Suam Gorge before descending to the hunters cave camp at 3850 m.
Then finally dinner and overnight at Hunters cave Camp
Day 6: Mude cave camp
Morning breakfast and after ascend to the top of the caldera to the Wagagai peak. You will also descend thereafter through the Jackson summit and the Jackson pool to arrive at the Mude Cave Camp at about 3500 meters.

Day 7: Mountain Elgon to Kampala
You will descend through the Sasa trail to Budadiri and after you will travel back to Mbale town. Have lunch, and then continue to Kampala you can relax and reflect the climb of the highest summit in Uganda.

Day 8: Departure.
Depending on the departure flight, you might opt to visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in order to view some wildlife and flora as you wait for the time of flight.
