Satisfy your curiosity with Love Uganda Safaris while spending your 14 days in a grand escape mood. This safari will give you an opportunity of exploring two countries at the same time that Uganda and Rwanda. In Uganda you will visit several national parks which include; Murchison falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and the magical Bwindi Impenetrable national park. You will explore other destinations such as Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Bigodi wetland, the crater lakes circuit, Lake Bunyonyi, to mention but a few.
In Rwanda, you will visit Volcanoes national park, villages in Rwanda, Lake Kivu and Gisozi genocide memorial center.
Day 1: Arrival via Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, Love Uganda Safaris driver / guide will meet you as soon as possible. He or she will brief you about the safari. Depending on your arrival time, you will then have lunch at any hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala. If you are tired because of the journey, you will spend the rest of the day in your earlier booked hotel or lodge.
There is also an optional Kampala city tour. This will take you to wonderful places with in Kampala city such as the Uganda Museum, Bahai temple, Old Kampala Mosque (for views of all the 7 hills of Kampala), Kasubi Royal tombs, Namugongo martyrs shrine, to mention but a few. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park
After a morning breakfast at your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe, you will meet our driver guide and embark on the 6 to 7 hours’ drive along Kampala – Bombo – Masindi road to Murchison falls national park.
You will stop at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for a rhinoceros tracking experience. Here you will learn about the stories of the rhinos and how they were at the verge of extinction before the establishment of the sanctuary. This is why they are still categorized under world’s endangered species.
Continue with lunch in Masindi and reach Murchison falls national park.
Check in to your earlier booked lodge upon arrival, for relaxation, dinner and sleepover.

Day 3: Do morning game drive, afternoon launch cruise to the bottom of the falls and then hike to the top of the falls
The day starts with an early morning breakfast at around 6:30am. You will then meet your driver / guide and go for a wonderful game drive. The reason for starting this journey as early as 6:00am is to catch the early risers and the nocturnal of the park as they leave their nests and go to their dens respectively. This is the best time for seeing at least half of the big five animals (lion, leopard, buffalo or elephant).
During this game drive, you will see quite a number of bird species, some of which include rift valley endemics while others can never be seen elsewhere in the world. Some of these birds include but not limited to the following; Abyssinian ground hornbill, Occasional black-headed lapwing, common gray crowned crane, common Senegal thick-knee, and Shoebill.
After the game drive, you will return to your hotel / lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Later on, you will go for an afternoon launch cruise at the Nile River for another spectacular experience. The boat cruise will take you down the bottom of the falls. This comes with photographic moments and mesmerizing water experience down the bottom of the falls. You will encounter a number of aquatic animals such as the Nile crocodile and hypotenuses and other bird species.
Continue and hike to the top of the falls and see how the water roars like a hungry lions as it cuts through the gorge. It is from here that you will meet your driver who will drive you back to your hotel or lodge.
Upon arrival, relax, have dinner and spend a night.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park -whole day drive
After a morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kibale Forest national park. You will have lunch en’ route in either Hoima or Fort Portal depending on time. The journey takes you through banana and tea plantations as well as scenic views of the rift valley.
You will then visit the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves and Nyakasura falls a few kilometers from Fort portal town after lunch and have a short Fort Portal city tour if possible. During the tour, you will explore the Karambi royal tombs as well as Toro Kingdome palace for traditional encounters.
During this journey you will explore the crater lakes circuit of the Ndali Kasenda area. You will also get an opportunity of hiking to the top of the world and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding areas.
Continue to Kibale forest national park. Check in to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Day 5: Do chimpanzee, afternoon Bigodi wetland, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a morning breakfast, drive to the Visitors’ center for briefing about chimpanzee trekking. You will start on the trek in the forests of Kibale and get to interact with these apes. Spend an hour in their presence and get to create those everlasting memories. The trek comes with spectacular views of different plant, birds and animal species.
Return to your lodge for lunch and check out of the lodge. You go for a tour in Bigodi wetland which comes with spectacular views of birds which include; White-spotted Fluff tail, White-breasted Negro finch, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Black Bishop, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Boscage’s Bush-shrike, the Black-crowned Waxbill, Black & white Shrike-flycatcher, Superb Sunbird and Yellow-billed Barbet,. You will experience views of other animal species in Kibale forest national park such as monkeys and other primate species.
You will meet your driver and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park – A medley of wonders. The journey comprises of rolling hills, lush vegetation and scenic views of the great Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 6: Do a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains, an afternoon boat cruise Kazinga channel, and an evening game drive as you connect to the lodge
After a morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. The areas is a home to multiple species of both birds and animals. You will encounter animals such as elephants, buffaloes, zebras, leopard, to mention but a few.
During the morning game drive, you will also see multiple tree and bird species among which include; yellow bill, Robin chat, read-throated wryneck, African emerald cuckoo, brown illadospis, lesser flamingos, papyrus gonolek, to mention but a few.
You will return to your lodge for lunch.
Later on, go to Mweya for a boat cruise at Kazinga channel. Here you will enjoy views of the surrounding areas while sailing the waters. You will see many animals converging at the channel to drink and several water animals such as hippos and crocodiles. Multiple water birds also are found here some of which are rift valley endemics.
You will then meet your driver at Kazinga channel and do an evening game driver as you return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight. Every game drive in this park comes with new experiences and encounters of multiple bird, tree and animal species.

Day 7: Transfer to Ishasha sector for a whole day, game drive in search of tree-climbing lions.
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a game drive towards Ishasha sector – the home of tree climbing lions. This sector is located in the south western parts of Queen Elizabeth national park. This is the best moment for you to have a glance on the kings of the jungle. These tree climbing lions are found only in Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda. Meeting them on a hunt or during the mating season is always a remarkable experience. They are believed to climb trees as an escape measure from insects and a way of seeking refugee from the sun.
Check in to the lodge for lunch and relaxation upon arrival.
In the afternoon, you will go for another game drive in the Ishasha sector still so that you can spot more of these lions and get enough time to learn about their ways of life. You will see other animal species such as Thompson gazelles, zebras, buffaloes, to point out a few.
Return to your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi for an en-route coffee tour
After a morning breakfast, you will embark on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Along the way, you will have a coffee tour in Kisoro on the hill that separates Kisoro town from Lake Mutanda. You will learn different processes from the time of planting to harvesting, roasting, etc. These processes are practical and you will get a chance of testing your own cup of coffee.
Continue with lunch en’ route and reach Bwindi Impenetrable national park – the ultimate gorilla experience.

Day 9: Do Gorilla trekking and transfer to Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, meet your diver and go to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi starts at 8:00am and can take between 1 to 8 hours. The nearer the place where the gorillas spent the previous night, the faster the process of encountering them. Each gorilla family is trekked by a maximum number of 8 people per day. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is one of the most adventurous tourism activities Uganda has ever had. It involves walking the trails of the forest in search of these apes. Upon encountering the gorillas, you will be given a full hour to spend in their presence. Take as many pictures as you wish but do not use flash light cameras.
Return to your lodge for lunch and check out of the lodge.
Embark on the road to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale town. Check in to your lodge upon arrival and relax or go for canoeing in the evening.
Have dinner and spend the night over.

Day 10: Cultural tour-whole day
After a morning breakfast at your lodge, you will join your guide and go to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat to the southern side of the Lake. It is in this side that you will encounter the Batwa people. They will teach you a number of skills including brewing local beer and hunting. Other cultures within the area will teach you traditional dances, local food preparation, dressing styles, etc.
You will return in the afternoon for a late lunch.
You will then go for hiking on top of the hills for scenic views of Uganda’s deepest lake – Lake Bunyonyi.
Return to your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Boat Cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to volcanoes in Rwanda
After a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, you will go for a morning boat ride at Lake Bunyonyi. This will introduce you to beautiful sceneries as well as bird sightings. Lake Bunyonyi is a home to thousands of birds such as grey crowned cranes, herons, white tailed monad, weavers, African harrier hawk, egrets, cardinal woodpecker, grey crowned cranes, African king fisher, to mention but a few. The boat ride will also introduce you to some of the 27 historical islands of Lake Bunyonyi.
You will return to the lodge for lunch, check out and embark on the journey to Rwanda – Volcanoes national park. You will drive through the rolling hills and cross via Cyanika border.

Day 12: Africa home experience in Rwanda whole day
After a relaxed morning breakfast at your lodge, you will go for an amazing full day Rwanda home experience in the neighboring villages. You will Musanze village, Ibyiwacu communities. You will enjoy the hospitality of the people of Rwanda. Women will teach you how to weave baskets, prepare local foods, etc. you will enjoy their traditional dances, local food, etc. you will connect with local artisans and their families doing seasonal agricultural activities, perhaps hoeing a cassava field, prepping and sharing a midday meal together, and learning to make some kind of craft, be it weaving or making jewelry out of the local sisal plant.
It is during these visits that you can donate anything a sign of giving back and appreciation.

Day 13: Gorilla trekking in Rwanda and transfer to Gisenyi Lake Kivu
After a morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. You will learn the dos and don’ts of the activity. The trekking begins there and then and it takes 1 to 8 hours. You will be given a full hour to spend in the presence of these gorillas upon encountering them. The activity involves spectacular views of several bird and plant species some of which are restricted to the park.
Return to your lodge for lunch and check out.
In the afternoon, you will drive to Gisenyi – Lake Kivu for amazing views and sceneries of the surrounding areas that come along with best relaxation moments. Lake Kivu is one of the lakes in Africa that attract thousands of travelers particularly to enjoy the scenic views. The air and the breeze is breathtaking and the sunrays provide magical photography moments.

Day 14: Transfer to Kigali, visit the Gisozi genocide memorial, and depart
After a relaxed morning breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on the drive to Kigali city – Rwanda’s capital city. Enjoy the views of the surrounding areas and the rolling hills.
You will visit the Gisozi genocide memorial Center and see the names and remains of thousands of lives that succumbed to the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
Have lunch at any hotel in Kigali and the driver will drop you at either a hotel or lodge in Kigali or Kigali international airport for your outbound flight.
This marks the end of your 14 days Uganda – Rwanda group safari, wildlife, primate and scenery viewing.
