Budongo Forest is the biggest mahogany forest in East Africa north west of Kampala as you go Murchison Falls national park. Professionally preserved and managed by the National Forestry Authority, the Forest is divided into three zones. So, its strict nature reserve is the oldest in the Country. Its Buffer zone allows Eco – Tourism and Research to prosper and its Production Zone caters for Commercial Activities.

It is also a habitat for a large number of Chimpanzees and has two major tourist sites Busingiro Ecotourism site; and mahongany and iron wood trees  which dominate Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourism site. Do you love nature or the wild?. With just take a trip to this forest,  you have a chance to take part in chimpanzee tracking, birding watching to have a glimpse of the beauties of nature; and wildlife like lions, leopards and buffaloes.
