The 3 Days Lake Mburo National Park safari Uganda is a one of a kind safari tour in Uganda and East Africa; Lake Mburo national park is one of Uganda’s nearest parks from Kampala, the capital city; and is a very large game park that lies along the Kampala-Mbarara Road. Interested visitors should not miss out the golden opportunity to encounter the best of Africa’s herbivorous beasts; this is the only place to go. View the Eland, antelope, as well as zebras and water buck. It is has beautiful amazing rolling hills and extensive grass valleys that stretch miles away than you can see; interspersed with cactus vegetation, bush thickets, woodlands and rich wetlands. In Lake Mburo you will get to see, among many other animals, the impala, water bucks, the Cape buffalo, Oribi, hyena, Topi, reed buck, leopard and zebra.

One can experience Bird watching in Lake Mburo National Park Uganda in areas like; the swampy valleys of Warukiri and Miriti where you can view more clearly, just few meters above; and the roadsides between Rwonyo camp and the jetty.

There are also strategically-situated viewing platforms at the salt lick, in Miriti Valley, and in Rubanga Forest. Species observed at these locations include; the Rufous-bellied Heron, Bateleur, Coqui Francolin, Grey Crowned Crane, Black-bellied Bustard, Brown-chested Lapwing, Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove, Brown Parrot, Red-headed Lovebird, Ross’s Turaco, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, Green Wood-hoopoe, Common Scimitarbill, White-headed Barbet, Red-faced Barbet. In addition, they include; the  Nubian Woodpecker, Red-shouldered Cuckoo-shrike, Long-tailed Cisticola, Yellow-breasted Apalis, White-winged Tit and Finfoot among others.

Rubanga Forest can either be visited using a vehicle or on foot. This is a real draw for keen birders, and prior arrangement should be made with the warden. The rare Red-faced Barbet – only seen in Lake Mburo National Park – is one of the of the forest’s featured species

Early morning pick up from your hotel after breakfast. Make it for Mbarara through Kayabwe, at the equator crossing where you will have a memorable photo session and a local experiment will be demonstrated that portrays where the earth divides into two hemispheres.

Continue through Masaka town but remember this journey has a lot for you to see and you stop along the way to witness some of the largest banana plantation farms. You will also make stops at Mpambire to see the Royal Drum Makers at their craft.

You will arrive in Mbarara for a sumptuous lunch at Igongo cultural Centre; here, they prepare food with a cultural touch before you proceed to Lake Mburo National Park.

You will be amazed as you look at wild animals grazing side by side amidst the Ankole long horned cattle. You will enter the park through the Nshara gate. Take an afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo itself. Retire for the evening.

Early morning regroup at the lodge. Prepare to take an early morning game drive through the national park with your guides on spacious 4 wheel drive vehicles. This game park is used to graze domestic cattle; therefore you will get to see zebras and the long horned domestic cattle grazing together in harmony. Retire for the evening for dinner and overnight.

Early morning regroup at the lodge and a thrilling breakfast. Guides will brief you before your early morning departure to Biharwe town. Prepare to go Bicycle cycling through the park. There are no large hills to climb. You cross pleasant marshy low-lying areas, skirting larger hills through small villages and smallholdings. Return to the camp. Depart for Kampala.
