This Botswana safari will start with a nature trail of Motsentsela where you will experience sights and sounds of an African bush, on the second day you will be transferred to Nxai Pan for a game viewing drive and explore Nxai Pan National Park with beautiful shades of acacia trees, springbok ,Oryx antelope, artificial water points, bats eared fox, cheetah and hartebeest. You will head to Maun on another day and enjoy the spectacular
Okavango landscapes from air to a dry Kalahari which overlooks the stunning floodplains which you can explore by foot; you can also have night game drives. Also tour the Mokoro through the crystal clear read and water lily lined water ways of the Okavango and also reach close to the Botswana wildlife species like buffaloes, elephants and other animal species. Then you will also be transferred to Moremi game reserve part of Okavango Delta famously known for its game viewing and scenery on a game drive along the Khwai River and the flood plains; you also head to Savuti for game viewing.
You will move to National Park for game viewing like elephants and buffaloes and also explore Chobe River on a Motorized boat cruise and view various birds and animal species alongside the crocodiles and hippos in the river as well as viewing some animals like elephants reaching the river for water, then head to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and view wildlife species you can opt to visit the craft market in the middle town or enjoy water rafting experience.
On your arrival at the airport, you will be met by the guide who will drive you through the rural Maun countryside to Motsentsela Lodge, which is a small tented Lodge. On your arrival, your guide will talk to you through the rest of your trip, and then you will take time to relax and acclimatize in the scenic surroundings of the lodge. You will perhaps choose one of the three nature trails at Motsentsela and start to experience the sights and the sounds of the African Bush.
Then dinner and overnight at Motsentsela tree Lodge
Have breakfast and after depart by vehicle for Nxai Pan; a journey of about 200km, which takes about 4 hours. Driving to Nxai Pan, you will start to get a feeling for the vastness of Botswana’s wild places. We will prepare lunch since our camp staff will have traveled with us in a separate vehicle; erect your own private tented camp which will be your home for the next two days. In the afternoon, you will go on the first game viewing drive to explore Nxai Pan National park; which consists of fascinating series of fossil pans, interspersed with shady Islands of Acacia trees. You will also view the springbok and the Oryx antelope. After the game drive, you will return to the camp and enjoy a hearty dinner around an African campfire.
Then dinner and overnight camping at a private campsite
Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will proceed with your exploration of Nxai Pan. You will visit some of the artificial water points, used by the wildlife to quench their thirst; keeping an eye out for some of Nxai’s more unusual game species such as bat eared fox, cheetah and the hartebeest, which are sometimes seen. Then return to your tented camp for lunch; before heading out again for your late afternoon drive. Later at sunset, you will keep a special eye out for the brown hyena, which inhabits this area but is seldom seen due to its shy nocturnal nature.
Finally have dinner and overnight at the camping facility
We will set off back to Maun in order to catch our 40 minute charter flight to Mapula Lodge; situated in the northern parts of the world renowned Okavango Delta. You will enjoy the spectacular Okavango landscapes from the air; a beautiful contrast to dry Kalahari you have just experienced in Nxai Pan. You will arrive at the superbly comfortable lodge, which also overlooks the stunning floodplains. These you can also explore by foot, by Mokoro and safari vehicle. Mapula also affords you the possibility of doing night game drives. The guide and Mapula camp management will advise you as to which activities to do, depending on the time of the day.
Then dinner and overnight at Mapula Lodge.
Early in the morning, you will continue with your safari activities where you left off the day before. With your armed game walk, you will get closer to nature than you ever thought possible. The Mokoro trip through the crystal clear, read and water lily lined waterways of the Okavango makes for a supremely peaceful experience. This perhaps gives you the chance of sighting and floating up the unusual Sitatunga; an aquatic antelope species uniquely adapted to its watery environment. During your game drive, you will get close to Botswana wildlife species including; the buffalos, elephants and other animal species found in this area. However, on your night drive, you will witness nocturnal species going about their night routines; a special thrill for any safari.’
Finally dinner and overnight at Mapula Lodge
In the morning, you will leave the Mapula floodplains and head by charter aircraft on a 30 minute flight to Moremi Game Reserve; an intricate part of the Okavango Delta and world famous for its incredible game viewing and scenery. After landing in the Moremi, we will meet up again with our safari team that has already erected our private tent camp in the reserve. Following the afternoon siesta, we will head out on a game drive along the Khwai River and its flood plains. Game viewing being good in Moremi, we should see the hippos, lions, elephants, antelopes.
Then dinner and overnight at the camp
Early in the morning, you will continue and experience the best of Moremi. We will stop along some of the larger pans associated with the Khwai River. We shall also spot some crocodiles sunning themselves on the sun baked fringes of the pans. You will enjoy the sights of grazing red lechwes, and antelope species always found close proximity to Moremi’s waterways. View the giraffe and the Zebras, always on the alert to the danger of lions and the other predators of the Moremi. After another game drive, you will retire back to your tented camp and share your day’s experiences around a warm and glowing campfire. You will fall asleep to the sound of lions roaring in the distances as they commence their nocturnal hunt.
Then dinner and overnight at the camp
Early in the morning, you will leave and then the team transfers you to Savuti; which is also regarded as a prime game viewing destination. You will also cross the bridge over the River Khwai, its construction out of raw mopane poles making it an experience not easily forgotten. You will arrive at savuti; the vastness of the savuti marsh, a sweeping expanse of the savanna looked over by seven ancient rocky out crops and the dry channel. This was once its lifeline and appears in its awesome splendor. Later, in the afternoon, we shall go on a game drive; exploring the marsh and the wide variety of animals, which have made it their gazing and hunting grounds. Later in the evening we retire back to our private camp and take dinner with the whooping laughs of hyena in the background.
Finally dinner and overnight at the camp site
You will depart and start exploring some of the numerous waterholes dotted around the savuti marsh. You will soon get to view why this area is famous for its numerous bull elephants; which also monopolize these waterholes. The guide will also take you around the seven rocky outcrops around the unique marsh and also show you the Bushmen paintings. These point to the ancient livelihoods of those who once used to live in the area. The spectacular Zebra migrations; which periodically take place on the marsh are also a sight to behold on a tour. Immediately after a busy day’s game viewing, you will return to our tented camp for dinner and to reflect on the awesome splendor in Savuti
Finally dinner and overnight at camp site.
The tour will continue in the morning towards the northern boundary of the Chobe National park; the destination being our campsite which is close to the Chobe River. The drive from Savuti to Chobe takes about 3 hours and again offers contrasting scenery to that which you have seen before. In Chobe you will get to appreciate firsthand what has made this area unique with the highest concentration of; buffalos and elephant herds anywhere in Africa, spectacular sunsets and prolific birdlife. You will explore Chobe riverfront by vehicle and the river by the boat.
Then dinner and overnight at the campsite
The exploration of Chobe continues with a motorized boat trip on the Chobe River. This will unveil the enormous variety of bird and animal species present in the area. Your guide will glide the boat past pods of the hippos and the crocodiles sunning themselves on the shores of the Chobe River. Just from the boat, you will have the chance of viewing some of Chobe’s huge elephants coming down to the river to drink and also cool down. You will also have an opportunity of viewing the wildlife up close and to track the spoor of Chobe’s lions prides in the soft Chobe sands. Later in the evening you will have your last day in Botswana around campfire to the sounds of the hippo grunting in the river.
Then dinner and overnight at the camp
Early in the morning, we shall say good bye to Botswana and transfer for a 2 hour drive to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe; arriving in time for lunch. Apart from the organized tour to the falls, the rest of your time will be spent viewing may wildlife species around the Victoria Falls.
Then finally dinner and overnight at Ilala Lodge
This day is usually given to the tourists and it’s for leisure. You can have an optional visit to the falls again. There is also the fascinating craft markets in the middle of the town or enjoy a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. In case you are an outdoor adventure enthusiast; arrange to go white water rafting on the Zambezi which is also a lifetime experience. Dinner at the Boma Restaurant on the outskirts of town is an unforgettable experience.
