12 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari
This 12 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari includes an overnight in Kampala. Then a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park; where you will have Gorilla trekking and also a visit to Igongo cultural center. After the trek, you will also enjoy a community walk in the evening or an optional Batwa people for cultural performances and learning the way of living of these people. The tour also includes transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel and view several birds and crocodiles as well as Hippos. You will have several game drives where you will see many wildlife species.
There will also be trekking of the chimpanzees at Kyambura Gorge, a transfer to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee trekking; and a visit to Bigodi Wetland where you will be able to view variety of birds. Have your breakfast early in the morning and after head to Bwindi impenetrable National park; having a stopover at the equator for photos and experiments. Later on have lunch at Igongo cultural site and then continue; arriving in Bwindi later in the evening. Then dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp/ Bwindi camp/ Mahogany springs
Have breakfast in the morning and then head to Buhoma park headquarters for your briefing before you continue with your Uganda gorilla trekking safari to meet the incredible giants. Depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle, this activity can take 3 hours to a full day. After the track, you will then return to the lodge for lunch preparing for a community walk in the evening or an optional visit to the Batwa people. These are among the few reaming shortest people in the world. They will entertain you with dances and songs. Later on, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.
Have breakfast and after, head to queen Elizabeth National park via Ishasha sector. You will get a chance to see the tree climbing lions; then follow to the Mweya pensula and enjoy a game drive. You will also get a chance to see the many herds of elephants, buffalos, antelopes, hippos, water hogs, water bucks and many bird species. Have your lunch at Mweya safari Lodge and later in the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the park while you follow the kasenyi track which is the best game viewing site in the park. You will also find a large number of the bird species in the park including; the brown snake eagle, Bateleur, Grey-Kestrel, White and Abdims Stork, Martial Eagle, African Harrier-Hawk, Saddle-billed Stork, Ruppells griffon. Then finally Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Have your breakfast and after, you will head to Lake Munyanyange north of Katwe for more wildlife species. This place is also well known for its concentration of mammals and many bird species which. This is an added advantage for the bird watchers. Some of the birds found here include; Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, Terek Sandpiper, Greenshank, Gull-billed Terns, Red-necked Phalarope, the Greater and Lesser Flamingoes, Wintering Red-throated pipits and Northern Wheatears. After lunch we shall go for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel. This channel stretches between Lake Edward and Lake George. The animal species and the birds here cannot be compared with any other in other parks. Immediately after your boat cruise, you will enjoy swimming in Mweya’s significant swimming pool.
Then dinner and overnight at Mweya safari Lodge/ Mweya Institute of Ecology
Have your breakfast and then after, you will proceed for a game drive; expecting to view many early risers and predators including leopard’s jackals and the foxes, hyenas, aardwolf, African wild cat, Bush babies, Uganda Kobs, reedbuck, Giant forest hogs, defassa waterbuck, warthog, Elephants, Hippos and many more. You willalso have your lunch and after drive to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking where you will enjoy the primates. Depending on the time, you can also visit the bat cave deep in the rain forest or visit the Katwe salt mining site.
Then finally dinner and overnight at Mweya safari Lodge/ Mweya Institute of Ecology
Have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale National park via crater lake Area, Kasanga Forest. You will have lunch at primate lodge and in the afternoon visit the community where you will get a chance to interact with the Batooro people. You will also visit the tea plantation and the tea factory.
Then dinner and overnight will be at Primate Lodge/ Nyanabulitwa.
Breakfast early in the morning and after proceed to Kanyanchu headquarters for your briefing and start chimpanzee tracking at about 8:00 am. You will also view many primates like chimps, red tailed monkey, Lhoest Monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, Colobus Monkey, the white and butterflies, different insects and the Forest birds. Then you will return to the lodge for your lunch and after, proceed to Bigodi swamp for birding. This wetland mentioned lies along fort portal to Kamwenge road, 5 km south east of kanyanchu tourist center. The community based project also offers access to magombe swamp; which is a very interesting area for the papyrus and swamp forest. While there, you will view many birds including; the the white-winged Warbler, papyrus Gonolek, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, papyrus canary, , Black-faced Rufous warbler Blue-headed Coucal, the spectacular Yellow-billed Barbet, White-spotted Flufftail and Grey-capped Warbler, Scaly-throated honeyguide, Blue-shouldered and Snowy-headed Robin-Chats.
Finally you will have an overnight at Ndali Safari Lodge/ Primate Lodge/ Chimpanzee forest guest house
Have breakfast and transfer to Murchison falls National park. This will be a long day drive through the homesteads where you will make a stopover at Albertine escarpments. The view of Lake Albert at the floor of the rift valley is also fascinating. Then you will board the ferry crossing the river Nile to the northern bank.
Finally have dinner and an overnight at Paraa safari lodge /Pakuba Lodge/Red Chilli
Have your breakfast in the morning and you will undertake a morning game drive to the northern sector of the park. There, you will view many animals like; lions, elephant, hyenas, jacksons heartbeast, kobs, monkeys and patas. In the afternoon, move to the bottom of the falls. Here, you will view many Nile crocodiles, hippos, rare shoebill, bee eaters and many other birds. Then finally have dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari lodge /Pakuba Lodge/Red chilli
Have your breakfast and transfer to Kampala; having a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to view the rhinos. You will reach Kampala in the evening. Then have a dinner and an overnight at Serena Hotel/ Golf Course Hotel / the Lodge.
Have breakfast and afterwards proceed for a city tour around Kampala. Later our driver will transfer you to the airport depending on your flight details and mark the end of your Gorilla trekking safari in Uganda.
